Questions and answers
| q: |
I am running a Webster-Stratton course and feel that the whole modules from my mum and dad argue a lot would be too long for the parents in our group. Any suggestions?
|
| a: |
This has been raised by other parent educators. One suggestion has been to divide the modules into manageable bite-sized portions to suit your group. There are natural breaks in the materials that can be used and the video clips can make a discussion session on their own. |

We co-ordinate a community-based parent befriending group and we would like to use the DVD to open discussions around this interesting topic. Which resource should we purchase?
|
| a: |
We would recommend the Users' Handbook,
which includes the DVD. This resource is aimed at more
informal settings and is packed with tips, information
and ideas to maximise the use of the DVD. |

I'm not sure whether to buy the accredited
Training pack of the Workbook for facilitators
– can you advise?
|
| a: |
If you are a facilitator and train parent educators, the accredited Training pack is ideal for you. It will provide you with the outline for a one-day training workshop for parent educators or family support workers and guidelines for delivering the training.
Participants will then be trained to use the Workbook
for facilitators, to include conflict in their work
with parent groups or parents.
If you're running parent groups or working with parents
and don't have access to training, you will find the Workbook
for facilitators is the best choice for working directly
with parents, as it contains three modules designed to
add on to any parenting course. You might find our my
