Module 2 – Couple
interaction
Learning outcomes for parents: |
-
Recognise that our thoughts, feelings and behaviour
all interact with one another. Changing one can
have an influence on the others.
-
Understand how distressed couples can become
trapped in conflict that can escalate. They interpret
the other person’s actions and words negatively
and respond in kind. This leads to more negative
behaviour, thoughts and feelings.
-
Know that interactions such as warmth and caring,
simple signs of affection and doing things together
can protect relationships from the negative impact
of poor communication and conflict.
-
Recognise that it is the balance between negative
and positive thoughts, feelings and behaviours
that is important; the emotional bank balance.
