Introduction
Research shows that some types of conflict between parents
can have profoundly negative effects on children’s physical
and emotional wellbeing and educational outcomes. But when
conflict is managed well, children can benefit and learn from
the experience.
Those working in the frontline with parents and families
recognise the negative effects of conflict and yet often feel
they lack the confidence and knowledge to provide support
and guidance when parents confront them with this difficult
and uncomfortable issue. my

undertaken by One Plus One on parent conflict. This project
focused on developing the support available for parents in
conflict through: parent education; home visiting support;
and developing the skills of workers operating in community
and health facilities. Click here
