Impact of childbering on body image studied
Findings on the effects of childbearing on women's body image have been presented at the British Psychological Society's Division of Counselling Psychology annual conference. The study found that pregnancy and the changes on a woman's body may impact on a woman's body image and that body image was linked to women's sense of self.

The Centre for Social Justice (CSJ) has published a review of family law entitled Every Family Matters. The review calls for, among other things, a three month 'cooling off' period prior to divorce.

DCSF launches revised Family Man project
The Department for Children, Schools and Families (DCSF) has launched a revised version of the Family Man project. Family Man teaches prisoners how to work within a family, how to reflect and act on their responsibilities as a family member and how to articulate their ambitions.

Further Education colleges to get help to improve health and wellbeing
FE colleges will now be able to get extra help to improve health and wellbeing through the Health FE programme. The main themes are healthy eating, physical activity, mental health, emotional wellbeing, alcohol and drugs misuse and sexual health.

DCSF publishes schools White Paper
The Department for Children, Schools and Families has published a new White Paper entitled Your child, your schools, our future: building 21st century schools system. The reforms in the White Paper include a Pupil Guarantee including a Parent Guarantee so parents are fully involved in their child's schooling.
