ParentLine Plus: Separation during Christmas
Parentline Plus has reported new statistics showing that during Christmas 2008, out of 1,640 calls, 1,035 were of parents whom had split up or were concerned about separating from their partner.

Department for Children, Schools and Families: An Increase in parental satisfaction with services for disabled children
Figures from a survey of parents with children with disabilities in England have found an increase in parental satisfaction for authorities and services aimed for disabled children in 2009-10. They showed the overall national score increased to 61 points (out of 100) compared to 59 points last year.

Department for Children, Schools and Families: New Internet safety strategy launched to keep children safe online
Research suggests young people have now got greater access to the internet compared to previous years, (99 % of 8-17 years olds have got internet access) 18% of young people said they had come across inappropriate material online, and 33% also said their parents were unaware of what they did on the internet. The Government and a number of children’s charities have launched the UK‘s first internet safety strategy ‘Click Clever Click Safe’, aimed at helping children and young people stay safe online.

Government announces overhaul of mental health services
The Department of Health has announced new measures to enhance mental health services and boost the wellbeing of the population. Measures will help people with mental health conditions to manage their conditions so they can stay in work or get back to work.
